Mr Martin Thomas AM

 



Martin has worked for various engineering organisations and companies in both the UK and Australia as a consulting engineer in the power and energy sector. He graduated in 1957 from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Mechanical Sciences, and since then has worked as a Principal of Sinclair Knight Merz, Chairman and Director of Energy Technologies Limited (Now Dulhunty Ltd) and Non-Executive Chairman of EnviroMission Limited. He has served as the President of the Australian Institute of Energy, President of The Institution of Engineers Australia, Vice-President of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, President of the Federation of Engineering Organisations of South East Asia and the Pacific, Chairman of the National Engineering Registration Board, Chairman of the Electricity Council of New South Wales, Chairman of Advisory Panel and Member of Advisory Panel of EnviroMission Ltd and as the Chairman of Austenergy. He has received the James Kirby Memorial Award of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, Australasian Region. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 1993 for services to engineering and energy management and was awarded an Australian Centenary Medal in 2003.
